Writing your wedding invitation is not as easy as it looks like. In fact, making the invitation itself can be as time consuming as planning the rest of the wedding. The reason is that wedding invitations help set the mood for the big day itself. People can immediately tell what kind of wedding they are going to expect just by looking at them. That is also the reason why you should be extra careful on how you write the contents of your wedding invitation.

The first lines of a wedding invitation should be the parents’ request. Nowadays, some couples leave this important line blank especially if they are the ones paying for their own weddings. However, it is not a matter of who is paying but giving honour to the people who gave birth to you and raised you up as the person you are right now.

Choose a fun and unique way to write the request line. While it’s okay to stick to the usual “We request the honour of your company” line, it would be more interesting if you add a little bit of emotion and write something that goes, “Come and witness how two hearts are made into one.” This type of approach will work best for a casual wedding.

Moreover, you can also use words that are descriptive and expressive to go with your wedding theme. You can even write your lines in a form of a story to make it more interesting. If you’re having a beach wedding for example, you can begin with, “Let us get carried away in the waves of April and Eric’s love for each other.” No matter what the theme is, your creativity on writing lines like this one will surely pay off.

In case your wedding date falls on a holiday, it would be best to send the invitations two months before the exact day of the event. In your invitation, add a few words of advice that would inform your guest to do their bookings in advance especially if you are having a destination wedding. A simple line like this would be enough: “…we suggest that booking be made in advance.”

Lastly, before giving out the draft for the suppliers to print, make sure you have double-checked it for misspelled names of location and the bridal entourage. Make sure as well that you haven’t left out any important detail such as the date and time, the attire to be worn, and the church name and venue.

The author additionally often blogs about topics including the modest wedding gowns and formal gowns.

Let me say one thing and one thing clearly about your attempt to give a funny wedding speech...it had better be funny and it had better be funny for all the right reasons.

Let me say one thing and one thing clearly about your attempt to give a funny wedding speech…it had better be funny and it had better be funny for all the right reasons.

I think we’ve all been to weddings where someone has attempted to give a funny wedding toast and things have bombed miserably.

There is no longer a need for you to become a writer for David Letterman. There are hundreds of examples of weddings speeches that are very, very funny out there that you can take a look at long before your speech is given.

No one is expecting you to go out and become a Jay Leno writer in the next few days or weeks. Why not just get your hands on the funnies wedding speeches that have already been given? This will let you tailor yours to meet the specifics of the day. That could not be easier (or safer.)

The ability to stand up and deliver a humourous wedding speech is NOT easy. It may not be brain surgery, but it surely is something that people will remember for years.

I think we’ve all seen people head up to the microphone with all the best intentions in the world and walk away with the sound of crickets.

Hopefully you understand that the bride on that day is there to have everything go not just right, but perfectly. Your broken attempt at humor, or humor that is inappropriate will create lasting impressions that you can and have to avoid.

My strongest advice is that you take the time to see what has already been done and you copy from the best of the best of what you find. Even take the time to show different funny wedding speech examples to others. Get different opinions. And then tailor your speech for the day.

With so many wedding s speech templates at your disposal online, there is no reason for everyone at this wedding to remember your three minutes of infamy.

If you really want to give a funny wedding speech, find others that have been given before yours and copy as much as you can. Then when you win the room, you are better able to let loose.

If you are about to deliver a funny wedding speech make 100% absolutely sure you read examples first. Here’s some incredible weddings speeches for you to borrow from!

You’ve set the date and the countdown is on. You are about to choose your beautiful wedding dress and you want the confidence to know that you look your best on the day. If you have a limited amount of months or even weeks and want to see the BEST possible results, then following a carefully and individually designed fitness and weight loss program will leave you feeling energised and looking great for your big day! The earlier you start, the more results you will see.

From fat-burning exercises to the hassle-free ‘at home’ workout, you can finally lose the extra pounds and feel your best during this special time of your life! At last you can achieve weight loss, tone your muscles and flatten your stomach!

Going on a restrictive ‘wedding dress diet’ will leave you feeling empty and will not stand you in good shape to cope with all of the exciting preparations. Therefore, seeking advice from a qualified nutritional advisor on how to improve your diet is also highly recommended. Without a correct healthy eating plan and having the knowledge to know which foods to eat, it will be difficult to shift the excess.

With the right guidance, support and planning, your vision can become reality. Follow our tried and tested techniques detailed below:

1) Your bridal exercise and weight loss program should include aerobic activities (cardiovascular otherwise known as CV), resistance (strength) training and flexibility sessions. The minimum amount recommended each week is at least 40 minutes sessions, 3 x weekly, combining all elements. Despite popular belief, CV training alone will not shift the excess!

2) In order to stimulate greater fat loss, your CV sessions should be at least 60% max heart rate to make a significant difference. Intensity is key to achieving results. Investing in, and using a heart rate monitor is a great way to monitor the exact activity of your heart during your aerobic training. Alternatively, you could use a simple method called the ‘Rate of Perceived Exertion’ (RPE Scale) – you monitor how hard you feel as though you are working by listening to your body and understanding your own effort.

3) 1lb of fat is equal to 3,500 calories. You should aim to reduce your calorie intake by 500 calories each day. Here’s how:
• exercising at the right intensity
• increasing your metabolic rate with strength training
• reducing your intake of junk food and alcohol
• eating a well-balanced, unprocessed diet

4) Avoid foods that give you that ‘bloated’ feeling:
• wheat and processed grains
• simple carbohydrates and refined sugar
• foods high on the glycaemic index

5) Schedule your training session into your diary and write it down! Without planning and preparation, it’s easy to find an excuse of why not to exercise, especially during all of the busy preparations in the countdown to your wedding. If possible, training with a friend not only gives you support, but also makes you commit to the time that you have set aside. Take a few minutes to think about the time of day that is realistic for your training; you could get out of bed 30 minutes earlier and get your exercise session out of the way before breakfast! Alternatively, if you suffer from the ‘mid-afternoon slump’, why not make this the time to get active and create energy throughout your body?

6) Exercise by doing something that you enjoy. Motivation is vital for success. This may sound simple, but if you dislike an activity, you will not continue with it! Be creative but realistic.

7) Keep your body well-hydrated throughout the day with filtered water and caffeine-free tea. Aim for between 1.5 to 2 litres each day. Water is essential for health, carries vital nutrients around the body and flushes out the nasty toxins that your body might be nurturing. Thirst is a sign of 1% dehydration!
There is nothing better than having a goal to work towards! By following a carefully detailed exercise and weight loss program in preparation for your wedding, the results will be noticeable much quicker!

My name is Glen Grant and I am a Toastmaster who has also been running an Entertainment Agency in Surrey for over 15 years.

Let me give you an idea of some of the options that you might consider for your wedding day.

AT THE SERVICE

Procession – This is when the wedding guests stand to greet the Bride-to-be and the person who is giving her away.

Recesssion – This is where the guests are again asked to stand at the end of the service and where the newly married couple walk back down the aisle as Mr and Mrs …

For the Procession and the Recession – you might consider a string quartet, a harpist, an electric keyboard player, an accordionist, a kilted Scottish Piper, a wind instrument group e.g. clarinet, saxophone, flute etc …

To get full value for money from your musicians – it would be preferable that they were fully set up and ready to play prior to your guests arriving. Whilst the guests are taking their seats – the musicians can play gently in the background.

During the signing of the register the musicians can play two or three tunes.

Tip – Try to get as much information about the musicians – get them to send you a CD, their CV. and a suggested repertoire for you to choose your particular favourites.

Most musicians would play between 2 and 3 hours which means that they would also
play in the background during your drinks reception and if time allowed they would also play during a part of the wedding breakfast (the sit-down meal).

ENTERTAINMENT AFTER THE WEDDING BREAKFAST

Choices are plentiful – from Function Bands, Discos, Jazz Bands, Steel Caribbean Bands, Close-up Magicians, Cabaret Artistes, Country and Western Bands, Rock n’ Roll Bands, Elvis Impersonators, Ceilidh Bands, Barn Dance Bands – the list goes on and on.

Tip – In addition to getting pictures of any Band etc … – get them to send you their latest CD and particularly their ‘playlist’ indicating the type of songs and artistes that they play.

I would certainly suggest that you arrange to go and see the Band or Disco etc… actually performing at a wedding – it should be not too difficult for the Band Leader or D.J. etc … to ask their Client if two people (the Bride-to-be and the Bridegroom-to-be) could stand in the background (out of the way) and listen to the Band or Disco for perhaps 40 minutes or so.

Finally – if you are employing a Toastmaster (which is a very good idea) to ensure that your wedding day runs smoothly and is conducted in a happy manner – try to talk to the Toastmaster on the phone and ask him to send you a ‘current’ photograph and a CV.

On your special day – you certainly don’t want a ‘bossy’ Toastmaster – you should be able to establish how easy-going and friendly your Toastmaster is by the way he talks to you on the telephone. If convenient – try and arrange a meeting with the Toastmaster well in advance of the wedding day.

Conclusion: Why do I know so much about Entertainers/Bands/Toastmasters etc …????

My name is Glen Grant and I am a friendly professional Toastmaster who has been running an Entertainment Agency here in Surrey for over sixteen years.

I regularly Toastmaster for weddings all over Surrey and the South-East of England
and therefore I also know lots of excellent venues where I have worked.

I can provide any of the entertainment mentioned above and much more too.

I would be delighted if you visited my website and in particular had a glance at the “Clients’ Comments section.

I can also be contacted by email on glengrant@fsmail.net or alternatively please give me a telephone call on 0208 337 9018.

If you would like me to send you a brochure – then please do not hesitate to make contact with me and I will send you one immediately.

I would be delighted to be part of your special day.

Best wishes

Glen
www.glen-grant.co.uk
