Surrey Wedding Photographers

By Farrah Hill

According to Yell.com, there are over 400 Surrey wedding photographers. With all this choice, it should be very easy to choose a wedding photographer. However, choosing a good quality wedding photographer is often one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning. In this article, I’m going to describe why this is and show you how you can make the choice easier.

As one of the home counties, Surrey is well positioned if you are looking for services like wedding photography – there are lots of local businesses providing the service, and there are thousands of photographers happy to travel from London, Kent, Middlesex or Sussex.

So what is it that makes the decision so stressful?

There’s more to making a decision than having lots of choices to choose from. It’s much more important to have certainty that you are making the best choice. When there are lots and lots of different options, it’s even more important to be sure that the choice you make is right, otherwise you will keep second guessing yourself.

The best way to be sure of your decisions is to have a lot of experience. For instance, wedding planners do not spend a lot of time worrying about choosing Surrey wedding photographers, because they know what they are looking for and most likely have a list of people that they usually work with. They have a lot of certainty backing up their decisions, because they’ve done this dozens or even hundreds of times before.

Most brides, on the other hand, have not planned their own wedding dozens of times before (and if they have, choosing the right photographer is probably the last thing they should be worrying about!) This makes it easy to feel a lot of doubt when making a decision.

When a decision is not very important, it’s not very stressful. For instance, if you take some bad passport photos, you can just get some more taken. It’s a bit annoying, but not a big problem.

Wedding photographs are something that you have to get right the first time. If you hire the wrong Surrey wedding photographers, you can’t just have another wedding. And, seeing as the photographs are all you will have to remember the wedding day by (except for the ring and dress and husband) it’s an important decision to get right.

I’m sure you can see that with around 2,000 different photographers to choose from, and with the result of your decision weighing on you for the rest of your life, it can get very stressful indeed!

Luckily, there is a way to make the decision easier. There are certain things to look for that tell you whether a photographer is right for you or not.

In order to choose a wedding photographer, you are going to have to call them. It’s no good just looking at the ads and trying to make a decision – the ads tell you very little.

The first thing you want to do is make sure that the wedding photographer is a real professional. Becoming a photographer is easy – basically, anyone who can buy a camera can call themselves a photographer. But a professional is someone who knows how to get good results and has experience.

It can be very difficult for a non-expert to recognize a real professional Surrey wedding photographer. You can’t go by the quality of their ad (which is almost certainly created by a graphic artist), or the sound of their voice on the phone. While I could list hundreds of different little signs that an expert could use to quickly recognize a fellow professional, I’m not going to because I simply don’t have to.

The reason why I don’t have to is because there are societies and organisations for professional wedding photographers that only allow real professionals to join. If your wedding photographer is a member, he’s a professional.

After you have identified the Surrey wedding photographer as a real professional, the next thing you should do is ask to see their earlier work. We all have different styles and tastes, so what works for you might not work for someone else.

If you follow this advice, you should find it much easier to make a decision that you will be happy with.

I do have a recommendation – a photographer that meets all the requirements above, and who I recommend you talk to first of all. They are called “Charlies Picture Show” – check out their site and contact them. They’re easy to work with and produce great quality work.

Brighton Hen Weekend

By Amy Elizabeth Harrison

Brighton has plenty that you could want from the hen weekend to end all hen weekends…and so much more! Just 50 minutes by train from London, Brighton attracts swarms of hen parties who want to get to the south coast and then just go a little crazy. And why not? It is your hen weekend after all. There are many reasons why girls keep flocking to Brighton on their hen weekends and in this article we only scratch the surface of all the amazing things you can enjoy with a Brighton hen weekend. You’ll have to visit Brighton yourself to find out the rest!

It’s by the sea

Yes the winter months may just be around the corner and paddling season is long gone, however there is something unmistakably holiday-ish for us Brits about going to a seaside resort in the UK. Even in the winter, this coastal resort in East Sussex loses none of its charm and the weather certainly doesn’t put people off going out and having a good time at the weekend! You can still enjoy the delights and bright lights of the Palace Pier and there’s a fantastic karaoke bar, perfect for hen parties looking to belt out a number in true girl group style.

There’s a ridiculous amount of hen activities you can do in Brighton

Girls, we hope you love choices because there are plenty of hen weekend activities to choose from in Brighton. If you and the girls want some time to relax then why not opt for a full day of pampering at a spa where you can receive beauty treatments or just relax by the pool or in the Jacuzzi. Feeling creative and fun loving? Cocktail making, life drawing, perfume making or learning the art of burlesque might be right up your street. If you’re looking for all out action however, never fear, there are a number of activity centres giving you the high adrenaline good such as mud buggies or even water-skiing!

It’s one of the coolest places in the UK to go on a night out

If you’re lucky enough to get Brighton on a sunny day, you’ll be seeing it at its daytime best, however the city really comes into its own as the sun goes down and the evening hotspots liven up! With over 400 licensed premises, you’re never far from somewhere to whet your whistle and Brighton offers numerous watering holes perfect for the personalities in your group. Looking for good pubs and good food, check out the North Laine area, or if you want something with bright lights and a buzzing atmosphere West Street delivers some familiar chain pub names such as Wetherspoons, Yates’s and Walkabout as well as the super club Oceanas at the bottom. Nearby Hove has some cracking little cocktail bars and wine bars if you would rather have an evening of sophistication, or perhaps check out Jamie Oliver’s new restaurant on Black Lion Street. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find a venue in Brighton to cater for it!
